A 1978 15' Starcraft
18' SC
or 22'+ SC

Fiberglass/Tin
perhaps a model?

It had (has) an aluminum tank you want to replace or you want to change it to a below deck tank from the portable tanks it was using?

I installed a Moeller FT1826 under deck in my 18' starcraft 67 holiday, fit nice, opened up floor space helped offset added weight I put in the back, i.e., live well, dual battery, kicker motor..... Comes complete with sending unit that hooks right up to the stock gauge. The filler and vent goes nicely about a ft in front of the wind shield and the vent just below. If you want pics of that, in a couple weeks I will have it out of storage. Mine is an 18 gal but they come in different sizes. I got it from the sponsor of this blog, it was @ $300.

As you can see the filler and vent is in the front of the tank. Without bending the filer hose it comes out about a foot in front of the windshield and about 4-6" from the edge of the front deck, right. The vent I put on the out side just below the filler close to the top deck. I didn't want any chance of the vent, venting on top of the deck. When you put the tank in place, the hoses will about point to where they want to be. Make sure you buy CG approved hoses. CG did check them at a checkpoint last year.

I removed the filler and vent hardware from the back and just re-installed it in the front where I needed it. The hose I bought from a marine supplier. But again, beware going to Auto Zone and getting it. It has to have GC approved stenciled on it to pass inspection. I will be uncovering the boat this weekend, if you want more pics and details, let me know.

I will have to post the picture of my tank. I have a 1978 CC Mariner. With the weight of the new 115 Etec, I wanted to move the gas tank forward as well.

I ended up measuring up the storage area of the CC and had one custom made from RDS. They were great, and it turned out really nice. I had to tweak the CC a bit, but it will fit in there nicely.

I was able to get a 20 gallon tank, with a sending unit and a gas cap for a bit more than purchasing one of there factory tanks.
