Looking for a Clutch dog cradle

Well boaters I was finally able to remove the keel off my 59, 50hp Evinrude to expose the lower unit. Had problems with it staying in foward gear without the shift lever cable attached. Wanted to jump out of gear. The gears them self looked good, but the clutch dog shifter, ( the U shaped piece that the shifting unit slips into ) was pretty worn.

Is there anyone who knows of a replacement part or way that, that particular item may be replaced?

Those used to be readily available, and pretty cheep. You might check at a Johnnyrude dealer and see if they know how to get one. You might drop an email to Trixie's in Bayville NJ. The old man (now dead) used to have a cache of new parts for those old motors. Maybe they are still laying around.

From the website, it looks like Berkely Island Marine has taken over the motors and parts stuff.

Also look under Top Secret Files, Salvage Yards, SeaWay used to have loads of NOS.
