Looking for a 35 to 38 foot boat that I can trailer

I am looking for a brand of boats that I can trailer around. Cabin cruiser that the Bridge that can be lowered without having to take it all apart.

Tell us a bit more about your boating experience and experience with towing a large boat.

I tow a 33 foot boat . . . about 11 feet wide. . . needs special permits.

I pulled a 30 footer boat and a 35 foot travel trailer.
I live in Coeur d Alene Idaho. Besides boating on Lake Coeur d Alene or Lake Pend Oreille. I want to trailer it to the Puget Sound to take a trip the Alaska via the inland passage. No sale boats

In that class of boat, you're looking at overwide permits to trailer it.

The Formula might be an 8'6" beam, but not a cruiser . The Fountain is wider and has more cabin accommodation.

As for lowering 'bridge' or more probably 'radar arch' . . . many are such that it can be lowered, but it is not a quick thing.

Most 35' boats are wider than state regs, so permits are needed, most travel trailers are built within state regs, which I think are 103" wide max ???

Most state regs are 102" (8'6") width.

I just measured my trailer width . . . about 107"

The trailer overall length is 37 feet.

This trailer could probably hold a 35 foot boat, at the most. Probably a 35-38' boat would need even larger Maybe 40 feet overall length.

Permits are not a big deal, once you know the process. Multi-state permitting can get pricey. Another thing to consider is overall weight at this size range, considering boat, trailer, tow vehicle, is approaching the 26K lb. CDL threshold.

Yes, 102" is correct, senior moment there....most boats that I have saw are well over that dimensuon on width.

There and back is around 10 hours towing. I would hire it done. Maybe you base out of there for one summer to make it worth it. Maybe explore boat clubs.

Chap has powered arches. The SeaRay above doesn't.

That SeaRay isn't really "trailerable" as the total height on trailer is over legal of 13'-6" with the radar, etc. And the width is almost 11 feet
