Longshaft to shortshaft

I have an older 7.5 Johnson Seahorse from an sailboat I sold and now we are on a shallow lake with a ten ft. alum. boat. I can see a section a the lower end that looks like it's removable. Can somebody in the know help me out?

You will have to remove the spacer, attain and install a shorter drive shaft, water tube and shift rod to make the conversion work. Hope that helps!
