Log manifold vs. riser

I am replacing a ford 302 Volvo Penta 280 (cracked block) which has log manifolds. The replacement engine was also attached to a Penta 280, from the same year but out of a different boat and the new one has riser maifolds on it.

The new motor has a heat exchanger unit on it where my old one did not. Would it make a difference if I used my log manifolds instead of the riser type on the replacement engine? I'm not sure if the risers will fit under the engine cover.

Re: Log manifold vs. riser

Your old engine used log type exhaust manifolds, the replacement engine has center riser exhaust manifolds. You can use the old log type without any problems.
