My mercruiser manual says to apply a light coat of loctite 514 to bearing seal od. is this the same as loctite 515 or does anyone know of suitable replacment available at a hardware store or auto parts place.
What are you putting together? I'm quessing a trans.
Both of these are "gasket eliminators". Like if you want a gasket but can't loose/gain any end play!
Application is a seawater pump with combination fuel pump in housing. sump is filled with high performance gear oil. A regular housing calls for loctite 8831.
