I am brand new here and posted a question about the value of a 14 Livingston I'm looking at to buy.
Value aside, now a freind of mine is telling me run, not walk away from it because they are unsafe and a very uncomfortable ride.
I live on Vashon Island in Puget Sound and will be using this mainly between the south end of Vashon and Point Defiance. Maybe north a little.
Is there any validity to what he says?
Hey, I know enough not to go out when there are small craft warnings.
He said he's heard of them breaking in two...
He's got a Mantauk Whaler and I know the Livingston is not in the same class but interested in what others have to say.
Thanks

Re: Livingston 14'er Question

I looked up the specs on a 14ft. weight, 230,there are some basic 14 aluminums that weigh more some almost double.freeboard 16" (seems low for
big water)cap.5 persons or 1,000lbs.max hp tiller 25,max remote 40.20" transom.
Looks like it would be pretty hard riding on rough water.Hard riding boats are hard on the boat too.I have to wonder if that little tunnel might cause ventilation problems.

Re: Livingston 14'er Question

Thanks Admiral for the reply.
I looked up the specs as well but didn't really know what the affect would be of a flat bottom like that. I was thinking stability but not considering the ride.
