Just installed a thru hull pump for my livewell.Problem is it won't move any water. intake is 3 inches below water line, spray head is 4 foot away and 8 inches higher than pump discharge. Motor runs but no pump action. Any ideas?

Re: LIVEWELL QUESTION

There is allways the chance that you have the wires hooked up backwards, You also will have to have the pump at water level, they will not pull any water. Is this the kind that has the pump hard plumbed to the outlet? If it is I would double check the wiring.

This is not a fishing topic. It is an electrical topic.

Moving there.

Re: LIVEWELL QUESTION

LD nailed it - most likely gravity primed, but if the pump is connected at the intake 3" below the waterline oughta do it - if it's not obstructed, or filling your bilge, must be reversed polarity. A brand new pump, right? not an ebay reject or anything? ;)
