Livewell Leaking

Can anyone tell me what is involved with removing a plastic livewell? I have a 1991 Forester Terminator and when I run the livewell it slowly fills the boat with water. I assume that the inlet line is cracked somewhere and would like to replace the line from the livewell to the transom. I took out all the screws on the topside of the livewell but it doesn't budge. I am not sure if I need to take off something else or what, this is the first boat I have had with a livewell and I am not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Thanks

Welcome to iboats!

The livewell may be embedded in the floatation foam; if so, it will be nearly impossible to remove intact. Can you access the area around the inlet?

Welcome to iboats.

Can you see in behind the livewell at all, you don't really need to remve the whiole livewell to change a line but you do have to get to it, it isn't going to be fun or easy but normally it can be done.

Stick you head in he bilge, backof the boat by the engine, and see if you can find the pump and then follow the line to the tank, if you are luck the part that si leaking is accesable and you can at last splice in a new peice of hose.

As far as pulling the livewell out you need to remove all the fittings first which means you go under the deck and unscrew them from the back, shoud be easier to change a hose.
Have you run the pump and looked for a leak yet, that would be a good starting point.
