I built a livewell in the back of my boat and used one of those brass strainers
for the intake fitting. Aiming toward the front it acts like a scoop helping to prime my pump when the boat is moving. The problem is I installed it on the bottom of the hull near the keel.

Now I wonder how much drag this little fitting is causing?

i ahve one mounted to the transom that sticks into the water, i used PVC pip that is bent up and into the pump. Works fine when boat is moving and my boat goes about 41MPH with 4 people on it full of ice and fishing gear.
