I need to repair my livewell controls. They are operated via a cable. You can either set them to fill or empty by sliding a lever.

On fill, they'll take water on, but not let water out, on empty, they'll let water out, but not in. At least that's how they are supposed to work. I have been told I can get replacement parts from a ranger dealer, but haven't contacted anyone on this.

Here is a thread discussing the operationhttp://forums.iboats.com/bbBoard.cgi?a=viewthread;fid=70;gtid=1086236

I don't know if I should replace my current unit or if there is a newer design I could go with. I'd like to be able to set it so no water can go in or out, as well as let water in but not out and let water out, but not in. What's my best bet??

Any ideas??

Well, I know there is a replacement part available for my system(at least there used to be). My question is, is there a better way to do this, than how my 20 year old system is done?
