What is the definition of of link & sync and how do I do it to my Johnson 70hp? My rpm's are not picking up until my shifter is almost all the way forward until I can't go any more. I changed my cables, have great compression, carbs clean. I just don't know how to adjust my control box to my engine. It shifts great, but my throttle just ain't right! Would I need to link & sync in this instance. If not, what do I do?

Re: Link & Sync

on you throttle cable is a knob, nut for lack of a better word,(it turns) where it mounts to the engine is the adjustment. disconnect the cable where it attaches the the engine. push the engine throttle all the way to idle now put the controller in the throttle position. adjust the nut until the end lines up with engine. you may have to fine tune this by adjusting the nut thingy.

the definition of linc n sinc , is, and adjustment you make on the engine to get the electrical timing in sinc with the carb , so that the carb open at the appropirate time with the electric impulses.
