Well I wanted to start this thread mainly to thank everyone here that has helped me in the last two weeks because I have finally got this motor in near perfect mechanical condition again.
For those who didn't see it before I found this motor for 50 dollars on Craigslist as a "collectible antique only" motor. I knew it wasn't in the best shape when I saw it, so I offered 30 dollars for it and the owner accepted.
Later at home I found the reason it wouldn't turn over was due to the cylinders and pistons that were engulfed in rust.
This was caused by a blown headgasket and I am guessing that they just let it sit after that happened, however the electronics were in great condition along with the impeller and seals.
70 dollars in new parts later and a quick hone and carb cleaning she runs MAGNIFICENT!
She has already been alive 2 and a half times longer than I have, and by the way it sounds, will outlive me, haha.
Note the "needs tune-up" sticker. Haha, rebuild motor... tune-up, same thing.
Also, it did come with the lower cowling as well, I just had them off for inspection.

I put it on a 12ft john boat that normally runs a 6horse johnson, and I must say I was impressed by this little motor.
And when they say weedless, they mean it! 30 minutes through South Carolina swamps didn't even clog it up.
It's final resting place will be on my 17ft canoe where I think it will fit just nicely.
Thanks again everyone!
