Re: Lighting a propane fridge

the switch is set to off in that picture. Would a standard sized dorm room fridge fit in that opening? cause if it would I would just remove the old one and use it

Actually the valve is open in your first picture, the valve is open when handle runs parallel to the propane line, or at least it should, unless someone has made a modification along the way. As far as a regular fridge, should not be a problem if you can find one to fit the hole, take into mind you will have to run electricity for a regular fridge or run an extension cord in through the outside access.

Just to add, in looking at the pictures closer, I stand corrected, that is a 2 way fridge, the wires on the left hand side of the picture are the 110v wires that go to the heating element in the fridge, so it will run on 110v electricity as well.

If everything is hooked up correctly it should, next time you have the trailer open, see if there is a control panel along the bottom of the fridge somewhere, but again, those two wires on the left hand side are the electric element wires, one is white, one is black and they are hooked into a screw connection/junction I can see that in the pictures.. the two wires coming out of the chiminey are the element wires..

Like I said earlier, get that RM number and email dometic, they may very well still have the owners manual which would explain the whole system, or you might get a hold of palominio and they could still have a total manual package for the trailer..

Re: Lighting a propane fridge

windy,

Thanks, I for the life of me could not read that number, but if it is that model, then yes, I was again wrong, it is a 12v/LP fridge, get it lit, let it cool down, then use the 12v side to maintain cool until you reach your destianation, then light it back up on propane..

That was a good find windy...
