Re: light bulb

Mostly incandescent...

The fluorescent ones don't fit in my light fixtures (mostly ceiling fans). I have tubes in the garage and carport. The front and back porch are the small "twisty" fluorescent ones. One of the 2 has already been replaced once. It didn't last a year.

Re: light bulb

Old fashoned here except a few reading lights are neon. I have 10 kerosein lamps, and lots of candles also, back when it used to rain and storm we had lots of power failures. But now we live in a desert where it hardly ever storms and i dont need the kerosein lamps much, I also have a few (3 or 4) coleman lanterns that run on white gas. And I recently purchased a couple of propane powered lanterns. I have 10 or 12 flashlights, a multitude of led cap lights for fishing. I have a couple of backup generators, for when the sandstorms blow down the power lines. Anybody got any of thoes shake up flashlights? Back to the point I think Im gona go with all Gore and start switching to the new energy effecient bulbs. I wonder why they started putting the red dye in the bulk kerosein? It cost too much at tractor supply to run as on road fuel? ? ?

Hey !386 try the "Philips Marathon60", had the same problem 'till I found those, (with a very narow base like a regular IC bulb). Re: Money savin' question by Rolmops, I have not done the cost vs benifits with present value, (using these low interest rates we have today), sooooo I really don't know the answer. That said: I'm basicly a procrastinatin' n' somewhat lazy ol' far* so I like the fact that I don't have ta climb the ol' ladder so much anymore after screwin' 'em in. JR 8)8)

Hey Pooch! I like yer post here. Out on ol' RR island, (where I don't have shore power), we have lots o' various lites o' the same type you mention here. BTW, Walmart, (I know you don't like "Wallyworld" Bro Haut), has great deals on fuel, (white gas n' all). JR

The wife actually bought 'em because they're supposed to last longer. Since one of the 2 already died, I'm in the hole already money wise. :'( I'll keep my eye out for the one you mentioned. Thanks.
