Thats how I did mine last spring. Got it all prepped before going to the lake. I drilled just one hole in each bunk at home as a starter so I could mark the other holes on location. By myself, it took 20 minutes in the parking lot while my wife prepped the boat for the day. I also stapled the bunk carpet just on one side of the board. After bolting them down with carriage bolts and double nuts, I used nylon string to wrap around the carpet to hold it in place for boat recovery. At home I finished stapling the carpet and cut off the string.
