Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Here is our Celebrity, it is a 1984 20 foot bowrider with the 5.7 V8. We just put a new prop on, refinished the wood trim, fixed the bow center cushions and alot of other little things. It is our first boat and we have been out every weekend since. Wasted alot of years NOT boating LOL!!!

Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Putting mine up FOR SALE if anyone is interested. $7500.00

Email direct at driven2bfree hotmail

I have owned this boat for 3 years now and have loved every minute of it. It has no issues that I am aware of other than a little age showing here and there. After all, it is a 91'. I took it in 2 years ago and had a complete tune up done to it including oil change, spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor, cap, thermostat, etc, etc. There was nothing wrong when I took it in, I just wanted to make sure it was in perfect running condition. Other than that, I have done all of the maintenance myself. It has a 454 ci (7.4L) big block in it which is suprisingly not too bad on gas, as long as your not all into the throttle all day long. I will try to include as much info as I can about it below.

It has been winterized and is covered and tied down good. If you want to hear it run (which sounds awesome out of the water) and take a closer look at her, just send me an email. I am willing to uncover it to show anybody who wants to see it. However, if you are an interested and serious buyer, I will de-winterize and start it for anyone with cash or an official bank check in hand. If needed, I will also deliver it for free to anyone within 30 miles of the Brier Creek area (route 540 and route 70 intersection) in Raleigh, NC.

Selling with trailer:
1991 Eagle Tandem Axle Trailer with surge brakes.
The trailer has been completely re-wired from front to back with new lights all the way around.
New trailer jack, new trailer winch, and new hold down straps installed last summer.

1991 Celebrity 230 - 23 foot cuddy
454 ci (7.4L) 350 HP Big Block
3-Blade Stainless Steel Prop
Hydraulic Trim Tabs
Net Weight = 3700 lbs
Fiberglass hull
Bimini Top
Fishfinder - Never installed but I'll give it to the new owner
110 Inverter
AM/FM CD Player with 4 speakers up top and 2 down in the cuddy
Dual Batteries with switch
Porta Potti
Spotlight with remote control - I removed this because I never used it. Comes with boat and I'll even put it back in if you want.

SO WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT...Being Honest....Not Much
Paint is a little faded with some minor scratches. Again, it's a 1991.

The seats are probably the worst thing on the boat. They are faded and do have a few cracks and are fraying in some areas. I was going to replace them this year. The rest of the vinyl around the boat is in very good condition.

Depth alarm does not work. That's why i bought the fishfinder

Other than those few minor things, the boat truly is in good condition.

Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Here's mine.. I bought it for $2000.00 and with the new carpet, new marine vinyl, new stereo, new exhaust manifolds, added a small hummingbird depth finder, painted trailer and replaced lights, rebuilt the 21pitch prop, I have a grand total of $4000.00. It luckily has the 4.3 mercruiser in her!! 100_1392.jpg

I went in Bass Pro Shop's/Outdoor World, and the same boat with the 4.3 V6 is about $28,000.00, yes they are nicer BUT they aren't that much nicer and mine will do anything the Tahoe can do.

Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Hey, stumbled on to the forum, just thought I would share my new toy. I am not happy with the place I got it from, but the boat is fantastic. Now I know that it is a 95 Celebrity 240 with a brand new long block 7.4L Merc and a bravo one outdrive. But what is the difference between the status, status bowrider, and the bowrider? Or are they all the same and people just call them different names?

Anyway, here she is.....

Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Hi, Brand new here. I've been lurking for several weeks. I just bought this 1989 Celebrity 181 with a 2.5 Mercruiser. So far it looks like a super solid 2 owner boat. Always stored inside and had proper maintenance done.

I'm not crazy about the small engine, but I couldn't pass the up the price and condition. It's hard to find a boat that doesn't need a boat load of work for $3500. So, I am super excited about this boat and to be a part of the forums. There is a wealth of info on this site!

Re: Let's see your Celebrity

Here is my 1985 Celebrity. I believe it to be 180V, PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG. I purchased this one from my Grandfather for $2000. Not a bad deal in my opinion. I am looking into the option of swapping the 305ci that is currently in the boat, with a 350ci.

I will be doing some trailer work, such as installing a swing-a-way tongue, and replacing the landing gear, and winch.

I pulled it out of the garage today, to sand some of the wood trim, and teak oil it. It was a nice day, 62 here in central california. I hope to get some more pictures of it up soon. Here is one just after pulling it out of the garage.

( Don't mind the christmas lights, I haven't gotten around to that yet. hahaha )
