I just purchased my first boat and doing a search on Beachcraft brought me here!

Its a 1980 18' Beachcraft with the Mercruiser 228 (305) I/O. Picked it off of craigslist for $1,000.00 and its ready to go in the water!

I'll be swapping out the fluids in the engine and the outdrive and taking it for a quick shake-out at a local lake here in Southern CA.

I haven't had a chance to really look her over real good yet. The o-rings on the drive lift pump are shot so I have to address that right away.

I just bought a 1984 Beachcraft 19.5' open bow, with the 5.0 Liter OMC, Quadrajet (Gulp, gulp!), on a dual axle VM trailer that looks like it weighs more than the boat!

The boat is in very great shape, except for the ball gears, and I knew that going in. I have a family member who can get the Sierra Kit for $90!
I'm gonna try to post a pic, so maybe someone can identify the model name. The ID is BCC91239F484.

Any info would be appreciated, and I'll try to help others as I progress!

I'm now the proud owner of a Beachcraft 18.5ft. cuddy cabin. It is a 1983 Hull # BCC19911M83J i understand the deck is in need of refreshing( read replacing) and some additional cosmetics. According to the past owner the engine and outdrive were refreshed 2 years ago so I'm hoping my restoration will not be worse than expected but we all know the definition of a boat. I'll post some pictures as I get it cleaned up and start restoration.

hello fellow b.c. owners i recently became the owner of a 1980 bc hull#bcc25052m80G 485 mercrusier
interior has been redone,it's the cuddy model the motor runs great and all the systems seem to work as they should.
not bad for a 1980 boat! it came on what i belive to be a tricker trailer.there seem to be a following for these boats.
it looks like it would be a good boat for the big CR,bouy 10,crabing,water ski,etc. i have a 22ft snake river jet and a 20ft hews searunner
cyclone 320hp. maybe someone wants or needs this boat! i am new to this forum thing and i dont know if it's okay to say that on this thread!
if not please point me in the right direction.

I just bought a 78 Beachcraft closed bow runabout (17' ???) with the OMC 120 Sterndrive. I've been looking for info on Beachcraft as well, and from what Ive read there are a lot of assumptions. The most likely is that they are Searay hull molds purchased by Britton and manufactured under the Beachcraft name in Salem, OR, but Ive also seen anecdotal evidence that Beachcraft and Reinell had the same manufacturer. I was looking for a Bimini top and one of the options for manufacturers was Beachcraft/Reinell... Hmm...

I have a 77 18' BC with the 351. I have some rot under the seats and need to cut it out. Nice to see a Beachcraft forum. I know when I bought it in 06 I couldnt hardly find any info on the boat.

Got a 20 foot 1982 beachcraft, dont know much about it yet its got a mercruiser 3.7L sterndrive. was dry seized when I got it but managed to get the motor to spin still though not getting any spark, the distributor cap is loose and there are no timing marks to find TDC. I know nothing about points style ignition so I took it to the shop its gonna sit there for 2 or so weeks before they look at it and gimme the list of what im gonna need. hopefully this thing isnt gonna cbe too expensive to get out on the lake. I dont know what model this boat is though. Somebody out there knows perhaps?

Just picked up a 76 18ft beachcraft in pretty good condition, its not getting spark but ill get that figured out other than that super clean boat has the 188hp 302 all the teak is still there and in good condition too interior is nice no rips on the seats, it is missing the rear jump seats but for $650 i dont see where i went wrong

I picked up a 1976 Beachcraft last year with a buddy from work because he loves fishing and I had been thinking about getting a boat. He didn't have space or mechanical/electrical knowhow, but I have that out the yinyang. So between the two of us, I now have this beauty sitting in front of my garage. Currently runs great but has a few minor things. The main trim hydraulic line blew when the previous owner started it to show me that it ran. I've since replaced that and am working out how the single solenoid trim system works. I had it going up and down, but now it only goes down/in. The wiring is really old and I replaced everything under the dash besides the stock harness from sensors. Fuse setup has been replaced from the glass tube to blade fuses. Added LED's to the dash (wish I had pictures! It looks amazing!) and bigger wiring for the bilge and blower. Still have a long ways to go as I want to replace a lot of the contact points for electrical on the motor side as well. I also want to set up LED lighting for inside the boat so people can see. The oil needs changed eventually. It's not really dirty, but still a little murky. I just don't have the tools or money at the moment to invest. Hoping to take it out this weekend for a trial run on a local lake to see if it works the way I assume it does! (I've never been on, much less own, a boat!) Wish me luck

If you don't have the money to change the oil, how will you afford a rebuild? But you put those LEDS in first! :facepalm:

Change the oil and change the lower unit lube after replacing the impeller.
