Just got off the phone with a mechanic who will actually work on my 1969 Merc outboard. I had purchased a seal kit and a water pump base and housing for it a month or so ago and he began to put thos ethings in. He realizes that most of the seals don't match and that the base is not the correct one as well. He says that someone probably put a different LU on the motor. This is a little request so someone in the future doesn't buy parts that truly don't go with the motor since the new owner doesn't have a clue what's been changed. Just tell the new buyer or place some sort of ID on the LU as to what it is. If your interested in a seal kit for a 69 Merc 800 and a water pump base housing, get a hold of me or they'll just be put on e-bay. Man, this is turning into a real pain.

Of course, the parts packages have been opened so the sellers won' take them back
