That's because the private community has jurisdiction issues. It's not part of any town, and they have their own security force. For some reason the Sheriff's Office has ceded to the FHP. Not sure why they did that?

In most places that I have seen, when there is an unincorporated area or township, the local county Sheriff's Office handles the calls. For example, where I live, we have only four (I think) incorporated towns in the Parish. Each of those towns has its own police force. In the rest of the Parish, the Sheriff's Deputies handle all of the calls. State Police are not involved, unless the matter happens on a state road or other state property.

I guess there could be some sort of a coverage agreement in place concerning Woods' community, but short of that, it still strikes me as being curious.

Given recent news reports, however, its pretty obvious that his wife was ticked and was chasing him down the drive, beating on the car with a gold club.

BTW, how are we doin' on not talking about Tiger? ;)

I am confused.

If the hydrant was on private property how could they issue him a ticket, the matter should be a civil action that would be brought aganist Tiger by the Home Owners Assoc. for damages.

And according to this mornings news there are a couple more sweeties getting involved.

Makes you wonder what really happened. Tiger endorses products so his character does come into play. Tiger is a competent highly skilled and highly focused individual. Very athletic and coordinated. Yet he leaves the road just after leaving his drive and runs into a fire hydrant and a tree. A neighbors tree. Now, how many time do we leave our driveways and make it safely out of the neighborhood? For most of us it is 100% of the time. I am a big fan of Tiger. I think the truth would be embarrassing.
My theories:

He was sleep walking. Likely
His wife was chasing him with that golf club. Likely
He was heavily medicated. Then why leave the house in the middle of the night?
He was drunk. Police say they didn't smell alcohol.

He will be hounded by the press and the public until he comes clean. One problem may be is his wife could face charges if she attacked him

My theory is that it is none of our or your danged business.

Think about how you would feel if some innocent and private event was grabbed by a bunch of gossips to crucify you.

This thread has come close enough to bashing to be closed.
