Leaky carb gasket?

I think I have a gasket leak where the bowl part of the carb meets the base that has the main butterfly plates. It's the gasket on the top right that joins both sections of the carb shown here:

My question is, what kind of problems would a small leak present here? It seems to be a leak where the gas seeps through the gasket or something. There was no fuel coming out when the engine was running, but now I see a stain on the intake where gas obviously leaked & dried up. I also see dampness around the idle adjustment screws so I may have multiple leak/seepage points.

Would seal problems in those locations cause vacuum issues & slight loping and/or stumbling issues?

Here's some more pics where you can see the wet spots on the carb base & stain on the blue paint behind the throttle cable:

Clean up the surfaces real good and install a new gasket. Also replace the carb base gasket. And use quality OEM gaskets.

Arggg. Just put the carb back on the intake with a new gasket a couple weeks ago after inspecting & repainting the manifold.

Any thoughts on the vacuum question or the loping/stumbling being caused be a leaky gasket there?

When it's running try squirting some carb cleaner around the gaskets and see if the idle changes.

Sure enough. Got a little stumble when I sprayed carb cleaner on the leaky spot. Guess I'll be yanking the carb off again. At least I have the seals on hand.

Re: Leaky carb gasket

I use high tack gasket sealant on my gaskets. That seems to seal everything up real well.
