rickover had a vision. granted he did more single handedly to insure the safty of our nucklear ssu/shipprograms than any other .<br /> gotta agree with DJ on thge depresion. FDR did all but sheet down Tojo's windpipe to provoke the japs to attack. it requires a bit of study of world politics from 1931 to 1941 to see how it came about.<br />all I ask of the bible thumping ,flag waving crowd is before ya thump and wave look beyond the media and find out who did what and when. sonme of it will churn you lil tummy and make you less proud to be a part of that america.

Yep... Tho not a political leader, He did have an influence farther than most may realize.. Without Von Braun (and his fellow german scientists and engineers), the cold war may have had a completely different outcome...<br /><br /> How about IKE?..<br /><br />strange.. none have mentioned JFK... :confused:
