1. The nanner puddin' (AKA banana pudding) quip was a reference to your misspelling of desert (dessert); unless of course you really are in the habit of throwing peoples' keys into their desserts, in which case I stand by my initial assertion.
2. You are correct. Our mods aren't that mean. The a'yuh was a tongue in cheek allusion to Bondo, our newest one. I've never met him, but I suspect he's as cuddly as I am.
3. You are justifiably proud of your Starcraft and '79 Johnnyrude. However, I rather doubt you'd be "blowin by" me in it if we were in any of the numerous shallow rivers in which I use the little 2.5. The more likely scenario would be my rescuing you with my white water raft or square stern canoe (either of which can pe powered by my "cute little 2.5 Merc") after you destroyed your lower unit trying to return to shore before the current carried you upside down over a waterfall.
4. If I want to go fast I'll launch my party barge with its neither cute nor little 90 horse Merc. Well, actually it won't go that fast, but hey, it's a party barge!
5. Will the largemouths "swinging from the stern" be comparable in any way to the one in my profile pic? (In case you're curious, I caught it on a six inch watermelon centipede Texas rigged on a 2/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook, and it was one of the numerous six plus pounders I've boated over the years. However, rather than allow them to swing from the stern, I usually just release them unharmed back into the water.).
6. Is your Starcraft named the Black Pearl?
7. Are you a fan of ee cummings?

Still dont get the nanner, but i did spell desert wrong didnt i, Anyway you seem to know much about boats and rivers and bass.No my starcraft isnt called the pearl, but kinda sounds good, maybe ill paint it black. What about the Reel Pearl.ha ha kinda like it,I also catch n release all my fishies except for the stickers on my boat.My biggest fish i ever caught on lake mead was a 19lb striper was using a top water plug.I love large mouths and when i see boats coming in and cleaning them at the fish station i go nuts.I have also owned many small johnboats and little v hulll 10 -14 ftrs. Those were the good old days being young carrying that little guy to the water with a 1958 15 hp johnson i found in storage still new in box paid 300.00 for it then.Lake Mead is my stompin ground, boaters usto follow me to the fish when they saw my boat.now i dont go as much as before i usto go everyweekend for a day and a half for 10yrs.nice reading your posts.

Glad I chose to live in Texas. :)

We have an "open container" law on the water here in 'Bama, just like driving on the road!!! Any idiot that is stupid enough to drink and operate a vessel will be thrown in the "crossbar hotel" until he's bailed out!!!

Alcohol is for when the day is done and the boat and truck are put to rest for the day... what's so hard to understand about that???

Call me an idiot. ;)

Re: launch ramp mishaps!

ok today i seen my first ever dumb *** launch.

1 guy by himself as i came up to the dock to pull out he was backing in. he put plug in took straps off and took winch off and safty chain ect.. then ties a rope to his bow cleat holds onto boat as he backs in. now i dont have a picture of this but imagine his arm out the side of his truck with a 20 foot rope to the boat.

at first i was like that is neat, then got to thinking his boat is really way to big to do that with being an 18 foot bow rider. what happens when he stops to fast and the boat goes flying? breaks his arm? or that the boat goes flying off before its in the water? you cant stop it and your holding a 5/8's rope connected to it.

I use to love sitting on the back of my boat at the dock. I was across from the ramp. Many an afternoon spent laughing at some poor souls mishaps. Not out loud mind you ;)
One guy was launching a runabout around 17' glass boat with a caddy. When he stoped by the water the boat, trailer, and cars chrome bumper all went for a swim. I'm laughing just rememberin it. Poor guy.

Fuuny you say that, I was watching You Tube vids last night and ran acroos a video of how to launch a boat by yourself and the guy did the same thing. I thought to myself that I would not want to try this as I have rollers on my trailer and ya when he shows to WRAP the rope around your hand I thought NO WAY that would tear my arm off.....

Re: launch ramp mishaps!

i usually pull my boat out like i have a clutch even though its an automatic foot on brake foot on gas. give it a little gas and go off the brake easy till the truck moves then let go of brake then i dont get that 1 foot roll back of the trailer towing your truck down hill cant imagine thats good on the tranny when you jolt the truck foward like i see some people do.

these people need to buy a remote controlled trolling mtr. just back it in and drive it to the dock to meet you.
