I see many many posts with VRO pumps going out especially lately.
The problem with these later model pumps (totally plastic, and self contained) is that they are NOT tolerant of ethanol. The black "rubber" AIR diaphrams delaminate and renver the pump inoperable. As more and more alchohol is introduced to gas in different areas the problem besome more pronounced.
Last year BRP finally corrected the proplem my intoducing a new material diaphram which is purple in color. Though they did not make an announcement or even address the change...it works well.
They have also introduced an new part number for a oil diaphram as well.
Please note there is still a lot of old stock out there that is still black.
