I was recently offered a Larson lapline, in need of a lot of work, but I can't seem to find anything on this particular model.
It doesnt look like any laplines that show up on google. Does anyone know what model it might be?

It has a johnson meteor 100hp outboard that I'll try to get running before I buy a new one.
Any info would be appreciated.
I plan on fixing it up a bit, not a full restore, but making it into something I can take the family out on the lake with occasionally.

Re: Larson Lapline Identify?

Google "Larson lapline" and then go to fiberglassics.com. Tons of info over there.

Lapline wasn't a model name, but rather a descrptive for their early fiberglass hulls. Larson originally made wooden boats. Your boat looks like an All American.

By the looks of it (outdoor uncovered storage) the deck, stringers, etc. are probably all rotten. That would preclude "fixin a bit" since it probably needs a full restoration to make it safe for use.

The guy I'm getting it from had already gutted it, replaced the stringers, deck, and carpeting before he gave up on the project.
For the last year, it's had a tarp over it, He pulled it off to take pictures for the ad a few weeks ago. It does, however, need seats, fuel lines, some wiring replaced and some patchwork on the trailer. Also, the engine hasn't been run in a number of years, so I have to look into that.

Re: Larson Lapline Identify?

Just found the model for the motor, it's from '68, the boat seems to be an larson all american with the windshield from a larson spark maybe? Something with an open bow. Is it common to swap out the windshields on these boats? I would imagine it'd be easier to find a place to cut flat pieces of glass than one large curved piece.

I'd guess it's a 69', a nice hull if it works for you.

The windshield fits too good to be a replacement. Its NOT common to swap them out. Most closed bow boats of that era had a center opening windshield. That's what the center step is for - access to the deck.

found this, a 69 life/guard larson69runabout.jpg can't tell by the pic if there is a break in the spear stripe, I think the spear stripe was solid till 1970 when the break was added
