it's called pollution. oil, tanic acid, from leaves decaying on the bottom. a good soapy wash with a degreaser works well. the oil pollution around the ramp sticks first then the rest. i use a product called Formula 88, $10.00 Advance Auto Parts, for a Gallon. about a cup to the mop bucket and it's clean.
