I am looking for information on how people fish for striped bass on Lake Wallenpaupack.

Would some people please share the information on what equipment they use and what techniques they use.

Places to fish, would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Michael

I beleive folks fish with live rainbow trout for bait on the Wall, I know they also troll with lures to catch them as well. You have to be careful using trout as bait as they are classified as gamefish.

Live rainbow trout? Wow, never heard of using them for bait.

Where exactly is the Wall at in the lake?

What kinds of lures?

Live rainbows have been used for many years for stripers with much sucess at Raystown Lake. If you catch the trout in season and use them for bait you can not have more than the possession limit on board to be legal. If you buy them from a dealer and have the receipt with you and you can have more on board up to the purchased number.

The Wall is a local term for the whole lake.

If you have trolling Equip you could use any fish imitation, rapala's etc.
I have had alot of luck with throwing shad imitations in plastic. If you catch them boiling bait you can be in for alot of fun.

What trolling equip would be needed? Downrigger and trolling motor?

How fast do you troll?
Do you set the baitfish lure above or below the fish?

You can use downriggers if they are in deeper waters, now they should be pushing bait into the shallows around the points. We often use planer boards to get the lures or bait out of the wash, slow is the rule for Stripers.
