So we shut down showings after the first day we let the scheduled showings go on Tuesday. Then the bidding war started, turned out very well.

Throwing all the chips in at 11:00 if I don't get it I will regret it. Funny thing is if it was not 20-25 minutes from my grandson I would have walked by now.

I have always felt the same way about anything I buy that are big ticket items, houses or vehicles. If I don't get it for any reason it wasn't meant to be. Simple as that. I wont lose sleep over not getting a property. I have bought and sold 3 properties in Florida over the years. Florida is a unique market, many rules that apply in other regions of the US or Canada do not apply in Fla. Because of the senior citizens living their golden years there or Snowbirds wintering that housing market is always soft because of turnover. When prices dove rock bottom in the 08' recession the housing market was turned upside down in Florida. Renters could afford to become owners and neighbourhoods that never saw anyone under 16 years old became playgrounds and many became drug infested. I sold a condo on the west coast exactly because of that had we sold 3 years earlier we would have gotten 30% more. And a year later the market prices dove further down. Florida is not a place where you will see big returns on real estate investment unless on or within a walk to the ocean, not an intercoastal I'm talking big water. Anything waterfront is in a class of it's own. I could go on, I won't.

You are not alone when you consider where your grand kids live. Mom and Dad moved across town to be close to a few of the grandchildren and make it easier for the grand kids to visit them. Not only did visits not increase a few months after that move both my brothers kids got their own places and not even in the same city!

harringtondav;n10861426 All fine by me. We've had our own place for 10 yrs. And for 10 yrs. I've gone to the sis's place to winterize and reopen in the spring. I've got better things to do.[/QUOTE said:
That's what I say too when I am peeved off. My brother had the same situation when the in laws passed and there was 4 surviving off spring. My advice to him was to not get involved and stand back and watch them eat one another over a couple of thousand bucks. It happened. None of them talk 10 years latter. Sad.

It just keeps getting better, home inspection passed, well water tested and passed. Against long odds the septic tank and drain field passed saving me $20,000. Feeling pretty blessed.
