Re: Lady Anglers

I think you and my missus would get along great Ladyfish. She goes when I gotta work. She hooks up, tows and launches by herself. The StarCraft or the toon, it don't make any difference to her. But she really likes the toon. She likes to be able to lay about while she drowns worms.

When my Dad had his bout with his heart in 98, we were at Kerr Lake and my Mom and she herself came down. After we got dad back from the hospital, we had a couple weeks while he re-couped. So we had time to fish. She used nothing but a Zebco 33 to throw cranks and spinner baits. She caught as many fish as I did. So much for fancy equipment. :D :D

My wife is a little on the shy side, and dosnt care anything about forums or the computer for that matter, Checks her Emails and that is about it! But she loves to Bass fish! She had never fished befor we met, and on one of our first dateS I took her for a boat ride! I ask her if she wanted to drive the boat and she said "sure"! Never been in any kind of a fast boat mind you! I expected to have to lead her all the way, but when she got behind the wheel, it was Katty bar the door! Full throtle and even trimmed it out!! I couldnt believe it! When we were done, I said to her," I thought you said you had never driven a boat before' And she said, "I pick up on things real fast just by watching"! Now, twenty years later, sometimes in the summer she will meet me at the door when I get home from work with a Ice chest and pole in hand ready to go out on the Lake! Sometime we stay out untill midnight, She loves to Bass fish in the dark! Do I have a prize or what??

Nope, shes not for sale!! :D

What ever happened to "SurfTrish"?

She had a boat that kept breakin down, had to get towed in several times. Then she sunk it, off the Florida Gulf coast.

And where is "TheLoveofMyLife"?
I hear she has a nice new truck, boat, and enough money so we don't have to work.

Pat, I've had that fudge from ER. The shop is on the south side of the street, about 1/2 block from the movie theater and the Indian Trading Post.

Miller Dam/Chequamegon Waters/Yellow River Flowage has been a big disappointment for the last few years.? And its not just me having the bad luck.

Big ice fishing tourney there on Saturday. They released 12 tagged bluegill, one is worth $1000.
A bluegill!!

Re: Lady Anglers

It was my wife that got me back into fishing. My dad and I fished allot and that's putting it mildly. We fished the Big O in Florida, that's Lake Okeechobee, for many years. We took my wife there for her first bass fishing experience. When my dad and I got out of the boat to wade, she thought both of us were crazy. I tied the bowline to me and pulled her while I fished. She fished from the boat and had a great time. That was around 75/76. About two years ago she started hounding me as only a wife can do about taking her fishing. That has been the best hounding ever. I had a small fishing boat; mom gave it to me after my dad died in 1985. When out a few times that year and found out you can't fish when you are crying your eyes out. But back to my wife, we started fishing. It didn't matter to me if we caught or even got bites, we were doing something together that we both liked and enjoyed. We now have a used 1988 bass boat and go fishing as often as we can. Last Saturday when to Lake Conway in Orlando - 5 to 10 minutes from driveway to boat-in-water. I had one hit. She caught 4 grass pike and an under size bass 10 to 11 inches. But what really made her day was the 4 1/2 to 5 pounder that 'got-a-way'. I jokingly told her I wasn't taking her any more. One day, and I hope soon, I will post not the big'n I caught, but the big'n my wife caught. We have been married over 29 years. That can be a lot of up and downs, but I must say mainly ups. But fishing together has been the mountaintop.

Jim in Orlando:

Isnt it great to have a wife that loves to fish?? Also enjoying doing things together! :D :D

I have more fun watching my wife fish than fishing myself! I usually let her cast into the best places first! She hates to lose a fish, she releases most of them anyway, but she wants to get her hands on em first!

Yea....run outta Bud Longnecks awhile ago  :D

(EDIT) Just thinking, why not get some of the Ladies on here. I'm sure LF would like some company of the female persuation instead of just a bunch of guys. I'll talk to she herself and see if I can get her on. She usually goes by the handle "mudcatmary".

Re: Lady Anglers

Well, I'm a lady angler and love fishing the Florida Keys. I'm not the best fisher person but I don't do so bad either. Snapper, grouper and yellow tails are my favorite even though I seem to attract too many grunts. My friends call me the grunt queen because I caught aapproximate 50-60 grunts one day at sea.
