Well I saw a second boater on the lake who found a way to lick the issues of an L-Drive boat.
The boat in question appeared to be a 90-91' Bayliner Capri (18-19') and the guy had removed the engine and L-drive leg unit and sealed it all off.
He then had a aluminum bracket fabricated and mounted off the inner transom area and had a 115 Evinrude O/B out the back....looked great. Looked like it grew there and he loved it.
I think thats a great option other than throwing the whole boat away if the L-drive is not retrievable for a reasonable cost or effort.
Just sharing, all good.
BP:)
