Kill switch wiring

I just picked up an older (late70s or early 80s) Honda 7.5 CDI. Seller said it had no spark, but it was cheap enough I could afford to replace some parts and still feel good about the deal. The guy had obviously fiddled with it because the kill switch was disconnected and someone the rubber boots were pulled back on other components like he was troubleshooting.

Well, I bought 2 new spark plugs because.i like to do that any time I get an old engine to work in, and it fired right up. 🤣👍

Well, I put the ring terminal that was right by the kill switch back onto it. And I believe the ground is one of the Rings under the wire flip just to the left of that, which was in place.... but when I wired it back up, it would not kill the engine... I had to choke it to stop it. I was rushed, so I have not tested the switch itself yet, but is there anything else I need to consider about the wiring? Black wire with a ring terminal from the coil to the switch and the other end to ground?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Nevermind, I got it... sort of lol. Disconnected the switch to test it, and it tested fine. Wired it back up and then it worked. Maybe the ground was dirty or something.
