I purchased a older boat a 16' Chriscraft. It has a great running Johnson 115 HP Seahorse( I believe its a 79 model). The control box is a Evinrude Power Pilot which is good condition, everything works. My issue is there is no kill switch on this setup. Is it possible to add one somehow? Im a amateur mechanic but could do some simple wiring if I know where to start to put one on , I would feel much safer. Any help appreciated!

Re: Kill switch help

Make sure you get one for an outboard and not stern drive.

Re: Kill switch help

You can just hook it up into the black yellow kill wire, make sure you run it parallel to ground with yellow kill wire line to the ignition, because if you do it in series the motor wont stop when you turn off the key
