Nothing like having to carry a Portable Tank along if it is a 2 stroke. Maybe with a 4 Stroke Kicker, you could tap into the Boats Fuel line
I have a totally separate fuel supply for my aux motor. Thinking that if I have to use it to get home if the main motor goes down I would want to not be reliant on the fuel used in the motor that just stopped in case that was the problem .

When was the last time you had a fuel problem in any spark plug motor? Mine was circa 1986.

Bad fuel, (water in gas) is the most popular issue with fuel. Had it all the time about 10 years back from all the major fuel stations. Local farmers created a co-op fuel station for all the locals. Never gave had a fuel problem since. However, those that still use the popular stations still have issues.

Your lucky and your fuel station does a great job if maintaining their stuff...
Yeah but that's like a few hundred stations in multiple states last 50 years or so. Not luck. And along the way all my boat buddies have had similar amount of 'luck'

Well circa 2015....my gas sipping E-tec ran out of fuel within site distance of my local marina...at night no less. My 4 stroke kicker was plugged into the main tank. My local dealer called it a Yamarude.

After talking with the coast guard while my super grumpy friend came and saved my but, I got home.

Sold that fine yammy and put a 1987 8 horse in my boat just to have a separate tank. In the ocean it should probably should be required.

All kinds of things can happen to fuel tanks.

Happened one other time before that.

Hard to fix stupid! 🤫

Cheers
