I have a 1999 Key Largo 20ft center console. My kids are complaining that the choppergun finish is causing them to itch from fiberglass. I am looking for any ideas on how to remedy this. Should I light sand? Prime? and Paint? I dont think I need to do the entire deck. Its more just the top of the sides, and the bow area where the kids sit.
Marine Paint vs. Rustoleum?
Thanks in advance

Painting will stop the problem, the type of paint is up to you. People should check in soon with their opinions on paint,

I REALLY like the Rustoleum Pro Oil Based Paint but ONLY if you add the Valspar Arylic Enamel Hardener to it.
Check out page 10 in my Thread (listed in my signature link below) to get the formula for how to mix and apply the paint.

OEM chopper finish ? I dont get this one here.. Did you chopper gun your deck ? .. or is this factory (underside chop).

Glass should not be flying around post build of the boat.

Grizzly Grip is a company in Orlando FL They make a paint/bedliner that goes on like paint but seals the surface with a tough coating. I have used it and was very happy with the results. You can google Grizzly Grip to see colors and textures
