keeps stalling in neutral

I have a 2003 suntracker pontoon with a a mercury 50 hp outboard it wants to stall in neutral and when it does stall i have to wait about 10-15 min before she will start any idea what i should start with.any help would be great

I have a 2003 pontoon with a 50 mercury and have been having problems with it at low speeds and idle. It appears to be the fuel pump diaphragms have been eaten up by ethanol fuel. The rubber coating was coming all off the diaphragm and clogging my fuel filter and getting into my carbs. It would run okay at higher throttle as I assume the diaphragm was moving enough to get some fuel through there but when the engine slowed down the bad diaphragm would not be able to keep enough fuel in the engine to keep it going. Will know for sure tomorrow but from the looks of it that is what my problem is.

I'd check spark too mine was getting week... I thought it was fuel related until the stator finally died completely resulting in low voltage at the coils. Your could just as easily be fuel, helps to atleast rule out the spark when the problem is duplicated then move on.
