Keel Guards

I've been looking for a non-stainless steel Bow guard. I have a 1981 Mirro Craft Lake Fisherman. It was damaged at the Bow seating Vee. I patched it up with some JB putty,(which Is Outstanding and moldable), and would like to add a bow/Keel Guard.
Problem is the keel shape. I'm afraid the adhesive might come loose. Any recommendations or DIY Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sorry, I'm 74 and don't know how to post pics?
