It's most likely cross-linked polyethylene, which is very tough (if not impossible) to repair. It can't be plastic welded, but I saw a site somewhere, where they had instructions on how to make a mechanical patch. The best bet would be to call the manufacturer and ask what they recommend for patching.

+1 for calling the maker...

Pix of the damaged boat & a close up of the damage may help ID the material... Even if you have to go online & grab a pix of what they should look like/new...

These were made by widerness and Old town--- Yes probably= cross-linked polyethylene,

Based on the feedback from fishdan-- -- very tough (if not impossible) to repair

Sounds like I might be better off finding another way to assist & rather than signing up to try & fix these. Probabably insured anyway.

Thanks for the input --

Ayuh,.... The X-linked poly used by Old Town can be repaired with epoxy resin, 'n various fabrics....

There might still be a "How to" at their website....

I will post pics when I get them. The boats are in NJ and I am in VT-- More pressing matters right now.
