Hi to all,
Had 48 spl, now siezed. Mod# j48eslc e/l ? r (1989)
Just bought (1981) 70 hp Mod# j70elc1m
I just swapped engines and have a few questions. 48 has red male plug from engine with 7 pins (6 small, 1 large)
70 hp has 8 pins (6 small, 2 large)
Can I use the control from the 48 on the 70? for one thing the 48 control has a kill sw. in the side if driver is thrown from boat
the control for the '81 70hp does not.
Another thing can the shift & throttle cables be lubed? As I said boat was underwater for 2 weeks, they seem to work ok I just want to lube them up.
Also steering control can that also be lubed?
CMC ptt, motor should be sealed, whats my chances of it working? There are 2 relays involved, I havn't checked them yet, any opinions?
Last is my fairly new bow mount AT minnkota trolling motor. I checked it and the +/- wires burnt corroded at the terminals.
Think water got into the motor? Or are wires sealed at the motor? Wishfull thinking?
Thanks
Beck
