Yup Jack thats what they did.....removed the hose.

Measure the rect box on the inside of the boat... outside to outside. They make aftermarket transitions that go from rect to round with the flex hose.... Mine just screw into the little lip where your wire is going thru...

Those louvers on the sides of your boat can be purchased from most any marine parts dealer. On every I/O boat I have owned I put a pair of them on the sides of my doghouse, up near the top. I figure you can never have enough ventilation, and I feel it also helps dissipate the heat better from within the dog house. Cooler air entering your motor for combustion is a good thing. I'm not sure how effective it is...but it gives me peace of mind.
