I have had quite a few boats in the past but 2 years ago I bought a 1979 Sea Ray SRV197 Bow Rider. It has the Mercruiser 470 in it. I Love It!

I don't now much about Mercs, is that 470 horsepower?

No, it is a 4 banger with a Ford head & a magneto ignition system.....A Merc. made by Merc.& an unusual system......170 H.P. I believe....JK

Thats correct, It is only 170HP. I have had no problems with it and according to my GPS it will push my 20 ft boat 45MPH while getting 3 to 4 miles per gallon. I am very happy with it.
