Technically it's not a project at all, but I'm bored so why not share, right? Had to go to Wal Mart today for something the Admiral wanted since it was a "rain-out" around here and I found these;

Run-of-the-mill "stick on" battery powered lights, but a pretty good deal; 4 for $3.97 including batteries. So, why not? I mean I already had velcro.
I like a little deck light when night fishing/floating and these can't drain the battery.
I mounted them below the to ****-pit helm seats. Kinda hard to see, but;

They actually provide a nice "wash" and fill the bill for what I needed anyway. I'm sure they won't last long, but at $.98 apiece what the heck I figure. I should add they are mounted at a height that lets me turn them off and on with my foot. Oh yeah, I'm THAT onery.
For those that don't want to admit this was a super cool idea and you're going to copy it, they are located in the light-bulb aisle.

Oh, and I got this funky pic trying to put a little "flash" on the subject;

Back to whatever you guys were doing and just so you know, I'm still shopping for a (gulp...)Starcraft that I like since the garage is finally empty. Figuring they'll get a little cheaper soon. Have a nice night!!

I like tap lights! they are useful for all kinds of things...closets, pantry, under cabinets! they don't like to get wet so remove them if not in use for extended time

That's why I used velcro...that and easier battery changes, lol.

I have to confess...... I like the tap lights too but I like the smaller LED ones that are at home depot. I have a few in places in the house that I will use in the event of a power outage ;)

The LED ones might be too bright for that type of boat application.
