My grandma just asked me to help her sell her boat, and unfortunately I know nothing about it. It allum and has allum seats, and it sets on a tee nee trailer. The trailer has fenders and springs which I thought was pretty unusual. I cant seem to add a pic. but it is the boat on my profile pic. I told me grandma I thought it would be worth about $300 dollars and she insists that it's atleast worth around $1500. So if anyone could help me out alittle I'd really apprieciate it.

With no motor, $300 would be about the max in that condition.

Measure the boat for its length--I'm guessing 14"
look at the craigslist for your town and around the state, and compare it to "jon boats" but not bass boats, fiberglass, bow riders, etc. Then you can give your grandmother a realistic view of the cost.
If you don't have a title (looks like it was not registered) you will have a hard time moving it. Things have changed and the gubmint makes it ridicuously hard to buy a basic old boat. Your buyer may not care if it's for a farm pond.
I'd say the trailer has no value and the boat no more than $300; I'd give it $150 around here (if there are no leaks) but there is a lot of competition.
Give it a power washing and put air in the tires, pull it out from the weeds.
If you do go to sell it, remember rule No. 1: always take the first offer.

Re: Just need a little help

Boat value is somewhat subjective. In reality value is the perception of the buyer, not the seller. In other words, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I find a lot of buyers and sellers get caught up in the "Well, new it is (was) worth 'x'. Which is an absolutely true statement, if what you were selling is new. The cost to replace something doesn't dictate the cost of the item (particularly used) when being sold. I also find that sellers have emotional ties to items. A boat that is worth $300 is worth a lot more to the loved one of the person who owned it. Memories of fishing with dad or grandpa. A woman with fond memories of seeing the happiness the boat brought her husband over the 20 years he used it. This is particularly the case when the previous owner and said loved one is no longer with us.

I have no idea if this is the case with your boat, nor does it really matter. (Translation, no need to get into a tear jerking story about the glories of days gone by).

Take a look at a few new aluminum boats of same size, then consider depreciation over time and wear and tear. Take a look at what similar boats are selling for of the same vintage. you can hang your hat on $1,500 all day long, but I think the foot traffic is going to be light at that number.

Post it on:
goldenstateglassics.com
bigfinboats.com
Fiberglassics.com

Someone there will be at least interested in the trailer make them take the
whole package or none at all. A Tee Nee trailer with all its parts would be quite
a catch for the Fiber glass restoration crowd.

You folks are generous. That thing needs about $400 of work to be worth 300 IMO. Unless, as said, someone is craving a teenee trailer just that size. Even then...
