Working on a '66 with a GM inline 6-cyl. I'm upgrading the original points/condenser distributor with an HEI. The original system relies on a resistance wire to deliver 9 volts, HEI needs, 12, so I started tracing the wire to the coil. A previous owner or mechanic did a really nice, detailed job of wrapping the wiring harness, which I really hate to wreck, but so far I haven't figured out precisely where that resistance wire goes or how long it is. Any help on identifying where to find the connection so I don't have to unwrap th eentire harness?
