http://www.sterndrives.com/470_coolant_leak.html

that's what I found online. Does not seem too bad to do also at the bottom of the page it has all the parts needed.

Now how many people here have owned the motor I have and have actually worked on one. I'm getting all of peoples opinions now is that from first hand experience or what you heard or read??

Here's a quote from the page that YOU linked us to.

The Repair

This can be a difficult and time consuming repair.
Only experienced or very mechanically inclined individuals should attempt this repair.

Moreover, IMHO, this is now a minor issue in comparison with the damage done by the overheat.

I'm with DON....bye.

We need to take it easy on the know it alls, and steer them in the right direction. Remember, WE were all know it alls at some time.

Did you install the pump correctly with no parts left over?
Did you test your work on muffs before launching?
That motor does not take kindly to anything over 180 degrees so the running temp is very important to watch. Overheat = no water in or no water getting out.You have to determine witch.
