JonnyRude 85hp water tell tale location

Thinking of putting a water tell tale on my 1976 evinrude 85hp. Is this a good location? Thanks for any help.

Take the time to look at your block.----Look on the outside of the # 1 cylinder.----You will find an ideal spot to install the fitting for a telltale

That's it. In bygone years, there was a water fitting in that location. Just be sure when you drill, stop when you hit air (the water jacket). It's not hard to tell when you are there. If you continue on through the next wall, you are in deep doo.

Ha Ha Thanks for the replies. I guess if I go to far I can have a water tell tale and compression relief combo port.
