Matt, i have seen used trailers, $50.00- $2,500.00. all you really need is a light trailer, with 2 6 ft bunk, and a winch stand. Craigslist is a great place to watch for the. if it has good tires, and bearings, of course they and be changed, but figure $70, a wheel for bearings and tires.

I'll second the harbor freight idea but would add that you can even buy one of thier $200 utility type trailers for a 12' jon. IT's light weight and flat bottom will let that boat ride on almost anything. If buying used, you should be able to find something in teh $100-$150 range easy enough.

p.s. If you have a SUV or PU, just get one of those bed extenders (also from Harbor Freight) and you can slide it right in the back without bothering with a trailer at all.

I did that ^^^ ,,, used a bed extender for a while, but it didn't work too well. I then bought a 40"x4' trailer from Harbor Freight and converted it for use with my 14' jon boat. I had to buy a 20' stick of 2.5 x 2.5 steel for the tongue, couple of 2x4's and some paint, but wanted the 12" tires/wheels for high speed driving. I think it was about $250 and a days work to reconfigure the flatbed into a boat trailer, but it was a new trailer, new tires, new axle, new hubs/bearings, etc...

Certainly better than what I was finding on craigslist/ebay.

Well, I guess I was lucky. I picked this one up for $200 on Craigslist. It was a PWC trailer but I easily modified it to fit my 14' Big Jon. I added the tongue jack, rear guides and changed the lights, but still only have $340 invested. And YES, I serviced the bearings....they were A-OK.

Re: Jon Boat Trailer

that is a long PWC trailer.

Yeah, I thought so too. The guy used it for a 3 person Waverunner but even then, the bow stop was pretty far back. He was also selling another PWC trailer that was quite a bit shorter.
He had bought a two-place trailer to haul both his toys at the same time.

I picked up a Skipper B Trailer on craigslist for $100. It needed new lights & wiring, tires, coupiling, bearings and paint about $200 total.
