Well, I'm getting "near" the end of major destruction and am working on planning for the "repair". Is there a typical or better way to join two pieces of plywood together? See the pics (link below Reference 5-7) for an illustration. I'm thinking of digging out some foam on the inside so I can glass both sides of the new and old. Should I use epoxy between the two pieces? Is it difficult to put new glass on top of existing glass? I'm thinking I will need to "feather" the old somewhat by sanding to get them somewhat smooth and even? Any other thoughts or suggestions? Is this even a sensible idea? I have several areas that I will need to do this on, so that is why I'm asking now, during my pre-planning for reconstruction.
