I put it into the bottom hole until it came out of the top hole, then put the screw back into the top hole before I removed the pump hose from the bottom hole to replace that screw. I put the bottom screw in last and motor was in a straight vertical position. I just talked to my mechanic. I ordered the parts for him to replace all the lower unit seals complete and a water pump replacement kit. He is charging me $300 labor and I will have the boat back the day after I take it to him. He said he will just need a one day notice after my parts come in (which should be this Saturday). All of the parts were $99.00 and they are all OME parts. So $400 total cost. The last time you put Oil in Gearcase, how did you fill it?
Thanks to everyone for your help on this matter. The engine runs like a top so it is really worth the investment to me for the repairs which I feel was a good deal price wise, but maybe not? Any thoughts?? (Whatever, it's a done deal anyway, but just wondering if it sounds fair or not to those that know) Thanks.
