johnson trim gauge wiring?

i purchased a used 98 johnson 200 and the boat i want to put it on has a trim gauge on it. What wires should be connected? Any color code i should look for? The boat the engine came from had no trim gauge. I would think it would have some wiring... would it come out of the trim sending unit? and which goes where on the back of the gauge?

Mike, My '98 Johnny 150HP V6 service manual shows the trim guage sender wire is white/tan. The Black/tan wire is ground and the green wire attaches to the sender body and is ground as well.

The wires on my motor were painted engine white.

Look for a black lever inside the transom bracket. That will be the operating arm of the sender.
