Re: johnson super sea horse

looking from the rear, tstat is just above the cylinder head, a little to the starboard.
this is a seahorse that has had the fuel pump added. the tstat would be under where they have the fuel pump mounted on this motor.

In addition to the starter motor you've got the ring gear, wiring harness, & choke solenoid. Also add in the battery, external wiring harness and solenoid box for another 60-80 lbs. or so depending on your battery.

Facing the front of the boat, port is on the left, starboard is on the right

CG,
I thought you were putting it on a pontoon boat? You probably would get 25 to 35 on a lightweight planing boat, but not on the pontoon. Maybe 1/2 that on the pontoon, all according whether it will get the pontoons up on top of the water. How long is your 'toon? Are you going to keep it on the boat it came on? What kind of aluminum boat is it???? If it's a feathercraft rocket I want it. Will give you $101 for it so you'll make a little profit.:) Will come and get it--tomorrow.

ya i was thinking about that ifff he just sold the motor. yet i knwo i would only get 15mph tops'
right now i guess im getting 5-8 mph witht he ten horse. a 25hp be like 10-12. and 35 hp be like 12-15mph

:Dwell im going to try and see if i can convince the guy to let me just buy the motor for like 50$ lol and see what happens. my sister wont complain about that then. here coems me going 12mph down the lake now lol:D i wish i could get my 50hp to work:( but i believe its so darn old that no parts for it like evinrude and johnson. if the 50 horse worked i can see me going 20mph down the lake;)

well since this motor hasnt ran in a while? how do i check compression? stuck rings maybe so false reading. i dont think i have a battery to use to use the electric start. and how do i check compression by just the manuel pull? dont u ahve to diable the compression lever but how?
